My Wonderful Followers

Sunday, 29 January 2012

Hi all

Hi all, hope you have had a great week.

I have loved being home this week and have had some good days working at the hospital.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to all of my followers, I have reached 31 followers now!
I remember feeling so excited when I reached 10, So Thank You all for your wonderful support and hello to my new followers!

I will definitely be straight back into my crafting when I get home... starting to get the itch again now, especially as I found a huge stash of card making magazines here that I forgot I had!! Doh!

I best be off as I have a night shift tonight and have lots of work to do!

Take care,

Thanks for popping in.

a little note from me...

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that I will not be able to post any cards in the next coming month as I am now at my home in Norfolk for a month where my crafting goodies are sadly not with me.
My other home (where I stay when I am at uni) has all of my bits and pieces and I won't be going back there whilst I stay in Norfolk.
I am doing a placement on the neonatal unit for a while so am staying at home. I haven't stayed at home since I was in college about 3 years ago so it will be lovely to spend some time with my family again!
Just wanted to let you know so that you know why there isn't much posting going on. I will continue to dip in and out of people's blogs though and say hello :)

Hope you are well and are having a good week so far.

Thanks for stopping by!

Winner!

Hi all!

I have 2 things I would like to share...

1. I would just like to thank each and every one of you that have added yourself as followers to my blog, it means so much to have such lovely comments.

As you may know, I work long shifts as part of my training to be a children's nurse, doing assignments and attending university lectures, 52 weeks of the year.

Crafting is my 'release' if you like, and I enjoy Me Time when I have had a stressful day or even just need a break from writing an essay.

To have somewhere to share my creativity as well and have such lovely comments from people makes it even more rewarding so thank you very much each and every one of you.

2. I entered
Lucia's candy before Christmas. It was her very first candy and I was incredibly lucky and WON!!

I have never won anything before in my life so I was shocked when I saw the name 'Loz' as the winner!

Please check out her blog.

Her Birthday was on the 14th of January too so Happy Birthday Lucia!

I am a lucky girl
:-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You card for my bestie

Hi all, hope you are well.

I am posting yet another thank you card! I promise I only have a few more to post up...

My best friend Nicole bought me a stack of paper crafting goodies back from New Yorks Macy's Store when she went this year, for my Birthday and Christmas, so I thought it would be a nice idea to make her a card using some of the papers (especially as they say friendship of them).

The image hasn't quite come out as I was expecting so some of the colours look a little 'offish' but I can promise you that they match in real life :) Why does that always happen eh?

Ingredients:

- 8x8 scalloped card from Hobbycraft
- backing papers from Macy's
- 'thanks so much' die by sizzix
- butterfly confetti from Hobbycraft
- flower die from cheery lynn
- gems from stash
- card stock from stash

I am back at uni this week, in 3 days until 5pm so I have 4 days off (lucky me!) to make cards
do some uni work ;-)

Thanks for looking!

Valentines card

I have just made this valentines card. It features the character 'Boofles' who I adore. I die cut him using my scalloped circle nestabilities from last years calendar, the images were too cute to bin! The papers were free from quick and easy cards many years ago but I thought they suited quite nicely.

- 8x8 scalloped cards from hobbycraft
- papers from quick and easy cards magazine
- red corrugated card from snippets box
- sentiment and 381 numbers also free with quick and easy cards
- image from calendar
- red stickles on boofles' heart
- gems from stash (actually for ironing on clothes!)

I would also like to enter this into Di's Snippet challenge as I used snippets!

Thanks for looking :)
Now I must get on and finish this essay I am doing :(

Trying out the promarkers...

I know this is nothing on other peoples work but I have been trying out my promarkers over the last few days and wanted to share to see what you think.
This image was printed free from melonheadz blog. See her link on the right side of my blog (one of my faves)
Any tips/comments would be welcome!

A lovely surprise

After a long 12 and a half hour shift on the neonatal unit, I came home to this parcel! It was from the very lovely Di at http://www.pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com
Di has so generously sent me a couple of promarkers and some fine nibs to start my colouring journey (beautifully packaged too!)
Along with these delightful gifts was the most beautiful card featuring a stunning LOTV image (my favourite)!!
I am a very lucky girly.
Thank you so much Di for your generosity and kindness.

Birthday Card

This is a Birthday card I have made for somebody called Em, I thought I would be mega organised as her Birthday isn't for another 2 weeks yet!

Ingredients:

- 6x6 scalloped edge card stock from hobbycraft
- embossing folder from sizzix (did it in reverse for a different effect)
- my NEW scalloped edge circle sizzix framelets in 3 sizes
- 1st circle using stash cardstock and printed from my laptop
-2nd circle using same cardstock but inked around the edges
- 3rd floral circle was made using a piece of 'cath kidston' packaging that I was bought for Christmas, I couldn't bare to throw it away so I recycled it and used it on this card :)
- ribbon from stash
- heart stickers bought for me by my friend from America
- inside paper downloaded from summertimedesigns.blogspot.com

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Thank you card

Hi all! You may be seeing a few of these coming up! I have lots of thankyous to send out to family and friends that bought me lovely gifts over my Birthday and Christmas.
Ingredients:
- c6 White deckle cards
- poppy seed card stock
- sizzix thankyou embossing folders using my new big shot!!
- arctic ice ice stickles

I also took a trip to hobbycraft today and bought myself some embossing folders and some pro markers! :-) I got the autumn, pastels and modern textiles sets as they were a bargain at £4.89 a pack! Unfortunately the skin tones set was out of stock so that might be an online jobby.
Hope you are all well and are past the Christmas blues.
